    • Served 22 years in the U.S. Army from November 6, 1962, to September 30, 1984.
    • Completed various military schools, including NCO Academy and Army Recruiter School.
    • Participated in the Vietnam War (1967-1968) and received the Silver Star and Purple Heart.
    • Held positions such as platoon sergeant and basic training instructor.

Post-Retirement Contributions

    • Retired for eleven years and volunteered as President of the United States Veterans Support Group Inc.
    • Assisted veterans and their families with financial aid, food, clothing, and shelter.
    • Active member of the NAACP and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
    • Provided support in filing claims for benefits and transportation to veteran hospitals.

Personal Background

    • Born in Johnson City, TN, in 1942 and drafted into the military in 1962.
    • Received his last name from his maternal lineage, tracing back to a slave sold in 1828.
    • Currently resides in Barstow, CA, and continues to support veterans in need.
